24 APRIL 2016 The 99th Opening Day on the BAY Celebration Since 1917, the annual celebration of the maritime community has heralded the return of sailing season for sailors all over the bay area. Traditionally held on the last Sunday in April, scheduled activities include the “Blessing of the Fleet” sponsored by the Corinthian Yacht Club, an opening day parade (The parade can be viewed along the San Francisco shoreline from Crissy Field to Pier 39 and runs from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m.). There are several ways to participate even if you do not have a boat or friends with boats. You can grab a front row seat at Pier 39!
